An Exhilarating Outing in the Rain
Well done to everyone who braved the rain on the All Under One Banner march in Glasgow on Saturday. By all accounts, both from passengers on the Yes Perth City bus and those who made it under their own steam, it was an exhilarating day. Despite the absolutely foul weather it was, if anything, an even more energetic and colourful display of the strength of the Yes movement than we’ve seen to date, and that bodes well for the campaign that’s coming . We may not know exactly when, but it sure is coming.
Particular thanks to Mary, Andrew, Danny and Grant, who acted as ‘bus marshals’ in William’s absence, and to everyone who assisted them. Mary reports that she has picked up a ‘wheen’ of lost property, and will be creating a list, which we’ll circulate in the next couple of days. In the meantime, if you think you may have left something behind, please let us know, if you haven’t already done so.
Coming up rapidly is the first Yes Perth City Supporters’ Meeting of 2020, which will be at the Salutation Hotel (Moncrieffe Annexe) next Sunday, 19 January, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. We’ll spend some time summing up the current situation, flagging a few important dates for the coming year, furnishing you with some factual information and setting out some of our suggested plans for the coming year. Then, after the break, it’ll be over to you to give us your views and suggestions on how best to campaign effectively in the next few months, and let us know what resources you’ll need to be part of that effort. All supporters welcome – please do join us if you can.
We’ll leave it at that for now. If you’re in Perth during the week, don’t forget that Destiny, the Perth & Kinross Yes Hub at 246 High Street is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm. The kettle is always on and you’ll be most welcome to drop in for a chat. In any case, we hope to see you soon!
