With the First Minister’s ‘starting gun’ speech at Holyrood swiftly followed by a barnstorming address at a jampacked and highly positive SNP Spring Conference, there’s a definite sense of something building. That’s without even considering last week’s poll from YouGov – normally a ‘No-friendly’ pollster, in the words of Scot Goes Pop‘s James Kelly – suggesting a surge towards Yes, even though we’re only just getting our campaigning boots on.
We’ll reflect some more on all of that in our next newsletter. This one is intended simply to convey a welcome piece of local progress, in the shape of the latest update from the Perth & Kinross Yes Hub team, sent out to supporters at the end of last week. If you’re one of these supporters, you will (we hope) already have read it, but it’s definitely worth wider circulation.
It’s encouraging progress, but it’s fair to say that it still only scratches the surface of what might be achieved with the full-hearted backing of all Yes-minded folk in the area. So if you haven’t yet offered your support, financial or otherwise – and it needn’t be a huge amount, just what can realistically afford each month – please consider doing so now. Here’s the electronic pledge form, and, as ever, if for any reason you can’t access it, let us know and we’ll be delighted to send you a hard copy.
We’ll be in touch later this week, with further observations on where we’ve got to and where we’re going. See you then.
